Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I like to play with papers, pens, paints, chalks, artistamps and whatever else I get my busy little hands on. And mailart in my mailbox puts a gleam in my eye and a spring in my step!

I am a Jehovah’s Witness and we do not celebrate most of the holidays because they are against what we believe. No Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, birthdays, Fourth of July or just about anything that Hallmark makes a card for. I also won’t take part in anything that features nudity or obscenity or patriotism. I respect your right to make any kind of art your little old heart desires but please don’t waste your postage mailing these subjects to me.I will not pass them along after November 11, 2018. Peace!

Artistamps are the cat’s meow, and my name is probably not the way you just spelled it. And, I like to hug people.

I offer no quality guarantees on what I mail in turn, and sometimes I can’t answer as quickly as you might like...but I do try!

Good morning!

I wanted to let you know that I received your letter after returning from a holiday.  It has taken me a while to respond as my jet lag kept me from sleeping much the first 4-5 days, and even now, I'm not yet back on a schedule yet.  After reading your letter, I feel a bit guilty about telling you I was on a holiday.  Anyway, I am not freaked out about receiving or reading your letter - at all.  I have great empathy for your most difficult situation, and admire the humor you use in describing some aspects.  Thank god you could get away for the hot springs mini vacation!  Was it Strawberry hot springs by chance?  I LOVE soaking and could be tempted to meet at a hot spring almost anywhere for a few days........seriously! Anyway I will write you a little about myself.  I never trust that this comment wall is private.  It is NOT, right?  There is no place here on this website for private exchange, I don't think.  So, may this be a continuing of our friendship.....and I hope we will meet up in person one day.  Thinking of you, Debra

Hi Carolyn,

The Bill Porter book is finished but I recall there was someone else who wanted it and I can’t find that message - or remember the next person who wanted it. Do you know? Maybe in my dreams (or maybe it was in Facebook, because Bill must have started a lot of books - they’re out there).

Learn From My Mistakes

Posted on October 29, 2018 at 10:07pm 2 Comments

Well, nuts! A couple of weeks ago, I did some envelopes with acrylic paint on them and then mailed them out without taping over the peel & stick address labels I put on them. Some had pilots and planes with  brown paint sponged over them. Some had multicolored bubbles all over. Absolutely none of them was acknowledged as having been received. I thought this was strange because most of my mailart friends let me know when stuff arrives f rom me, so I’m assuming the address labels didn’t…

Thank you, Bonniediva!

Ms. Bonniediva sent me a wee envelope (upper right) full of gifts that are glad surprises: the handsome brawny man on the envelope, Bonniediva’s official artist calling card, flower stickers with disability etiquette hints on the back, a luscious dance ATC, an “Approved by IUOMA” sticker, a wildcat sticker that I first thought was some odd cut of meat—I need to get my eyes checked—and an eensy weensy joker card.  I know you guys are jealous, but I AM just THAT special. …

Thank you, Valentine Mark Herman

We have trouble with the concept around here! As you can see here, my daughter could not resist opening the envelope.

It has not been a quiet weekend, but I do appreciate the efforts to make it so!…
