Yes please, an 8 track would be great!

I'll send you some Obsolete Art back.

There is a 'new-old' trend concerning mobile phones recently reported in the UK that I find interesting; People are going back to the old brick-size models (circa mid 1990's) on which they could only make and receive phone calls. So, no...and excuse my language...no Fartbook, no Twotter, no YourBoobs, no Crapps, etc. They say how much better life is without being a slave to the little screen.

Or, as I would put it, death to Steve Jobs, Apple and all the rest of those iThings! (The only one of which I have is an iRon).

Me? I'm too dumb to have a smart phone.

End of whinge.

Hippy New Year!

I saw a Three Dog Night 8 track the other day.I would love to Mail it to you if you want it? I was so excited to get my ribbon for my typewriter. I received it on the day IPhone 6 came out,I loved the irony.

I'm impressed, very impressed -- especially with your son's use of it. We have a very old type-writer here (circa 1950), but it's impossible to get a ribbon for it, alas.

I have an ongoing art project based on 'obsolete technologies' -- things like 35 mm slides (I started an IUOMA Arty Slide Group), vinyl records (ditto, a Vinyl Art group), Polaroid cameras), floppy discs, audio cassettes, etc. they all make excellent 'vehicles' for art. What next? It depends what I can get my hands on (and at what price!) in reasonable quantities -- I have some old computer punch cards and microfiches lined up for....well, something.

I try and avoid new technologies as much as possible.

PS If you have any old floppy discs that you don't want, I can give them a good home.

Do you have, do you actually use, a real vintage typewriter?
