I really need more practice using a knife, usually I stick to the v shape cutter for my fine lines. Stoke or China, it makes for a very interesting print.

Thanks, Elkan. No secret — just use small pieces and a sharp knife, it's cheaper on ink and lino. This was a reduction print, so each of the four colours was printed from the same block, cutting more away each time. The little piece of willow-pattern plate was dug up on our allotment but it was probably from Stoke-on-Trent rather than China.
