Hi everybody, sorry I did not see this before. First; thanks for all your lovely words, and second; the answers. I did carve the bottle on an eraser, I was impressed too, sometimes I surprise myself... Unfortunately only occationally. The birds look extradimentional because they are cut outs. I use the acceptable bits of failed watercolours to make cards, there, my secret is out. The cigarrette cards are reproductions I found in a charity shop, all about the history of the post.

OMG - did you carve that bottle?  What a wonderful idea, I'm super impressed, wish I had thought of something like that!  The watercolor with the birds on top adding extra dimension is awesome too, how cool.
