Ground Breaking for a local Artspace. 12 artists were asked to alter shovels. I collaged it with all the stamps I have received over the years from my love, mail art!!!

It's a 100 percent serious project. The head of the Elgin Cultural Arts Commission is a fantastic lady who has been super supportive of my weird art projects and really loves experimental art. She comes up with all kinds of ideas like this. One year they made altered dinosaur statues, this year was altered adirondak chairs. I do think I should do something with the gold part but since postage stamps are the theme how would that work? You know?

LOL. I'm still debating if I should alter the metal part too. It actually came gold which I have never seen before. What do you think? Any ideas for the bottom? If I AM a gold digger, I am REALLY terrible at it
