Paper + Post Submission Details

Boise State University

Fine Arts Gallery, Student Union Building

Boise, Idaho, United States

CALL FOR MAIL ART SUBMISSIONS

Paper+ Post is an international open call for mail art with collage as the theme. Postcard

sized mail art will be presented in an exhibition at Boise State University titled, Paper +

Post. This exhibition will feature collage and mixed media works highlighting current

worldwide trends in collage. We are asking participants to respond to life during the

pandemic these past three years. We welcome participants to ponder the question,

“How has living with the pandemic for the past three years changed your life?” Upon

conclusion of the exhibition, artwork will be preserved in Boise State's Special

Collections and Archives at Albertsons Library. Paper + Post’s open call for collage-themed

mail art is being held in conjunction with World Collage Day, an annual,

international celebration of collage.

World Collage Day, which will be held on May 13, 2023, is about artists connecting

across borders against a global context of entrenchment and separation. The day is

about an art medium that excels at bringing different things together to create new

forms and new ways of thinking. Ric Kasini Kadour, the editor of Kolaj Magazine, writes,

“We created World Collage Day because we wanted to honour this community of artists

and to remind the world what a spirit of cooperation, mutual support, and creativity can

look like.”

A live meet-up event will be held on World Collage Day, Saturday, May 13th.

Participants from the community can explore and create their own works using collage

as the medium. Details of the event to follow.

"Pay homage to your favorite mail artist"

To celebrate 10 years that I'm involved in mail art I have decided to organize a mail art project entitled "Pay homage to your favorite mail artist" and dedicate it to all my mail art friends. During all these years I met many amazing artists through their art works. My communication with them helped me evolving as an artist, gave me joy every time I received their mail art and hope for the next ones to come.

Pay homage in any way you want to the artists who were unique, special, different, loved to you!!! Tell them "thank you» with your art work and let the whole world to know it. You can use painting, collage, photography, digital art, artistamps... technique free. This is an ongoing project as the list with our favorite artists never ends.

Number of submissions: Free

No fees, no jury, no returns.

Documentation: All entries will be displayed online so if you don’t want your contact details to be published please let me know. The received art works will be posted on my social media and my blog.

Coco Muchmore - Thanks for sharing. I researched and found the bases on this site:

LEAVING A MARK

Hope this helps.

I was contacted by and artist friend (not a mail artist) who had received this Mail Art Call from Susan Gold. I thought it might be of interest.
