Hannah Höch (fan club)

Hannah Höch (fan club)

Some mail artists add a stamp print to their mail art, saying 'Hannah Hoch Fan Club'.

Until I received these stamp prints I never had heard of this artist, who was born 1st of November 1889. She has been a collage / photomontage pioneer. She was part of the Dada movement and also became involved in the De Stijl art movement.

For anyone who has a Hannah Höch Fan Club Stamp (and interested others, I haven't one), this group can be the place to share your thoughts and mail art, tributing to and/or inspired by Hannah Höch.

Mary Anne, love Eric's creation....I might do a very simplified version for the top of my birthday box. Taking the easy way out on that. Have finished six collages plus some surprises. Hope to have it all done by week's end so that I may mail in time for everyone to receive by November 1. Really having fun with this project as my other mail art is piling up. Ha!

Thankyou, Mary Anne - I gave Megan a list of addresses for the participants we have so far, but hopefully she'll get in this group before Nov. 1st so she can post a photo of her Hannah Hoch Birthday Box.

Hello Mother, speaking for myself, your friend (or anyone else for that matter) need not be a member of IUOMA, nor the H.H.club, to join in.  As long as there is a return address on the piece, it will get a response.  The more the merrier and surprises are always (at least here) welcome.

I have an artist friend who wants to be part of the Hannah Hoch Birthday Box project. She's waiting for her IUOMA account to be approved so she can verify her participation on this group site. She is listed as Megan Blafas-Chriss at this site: https://mcphvt.wordpress.com/students/ which lists Hannah Hoch & Baroness Elsa Von Frietag Loringhoven as her main influences.
