Hannah Höch (fan club)

Information

Hannah Höch (fan club)

Some mail artists add a stamp print to their mail art, saying 'Hannah Hoch Fan Club'.

Until I received these stamp prints I never had heard of this artist, who was born 1st of November 1889. She has been a collage / photomontage pioneer. She was part of the Dada movement and also became involved in the De Stijl art movement.

For anyone who has a Hannah Höch Fan Club Stamp (and interested others, I haven't one), this group can be the place to share your thoughts and mail art, tributing to and/or inspired by Hannah Höch.

Katerina, is the address on the envelope which you have posted in the group correct for Ernie?

Comment by Mary Anne on October 27, 2019 at 12:22pm

I could do with an address for Erni; just to keep the list of contributors up to date . . .

Thank you for adding Erni, Katerina. Concerning Kurt, I read in some biography that it wasn't Kurt Schwitters but Raoul Hausman who suggested to add a second -h to Hanna..?

Confirmation from Visual Mom - it is Noriko not Nioriko.

Received gifts from Mary Anne, the Bennetts, Cascadia, and Rosalie. I thought I could wait until November 1 to open. As you can tell, that did not happen. Ha! Really loving this project.

Just off to the post with all but one of the remaining presents.

The last one will go next Monday.

A big sigh of relief that it is all done - except for latecomers and surprises - and now I will turn my attention to getting a box and then some sort of #list of contributors' for everyone - just to finish things off . . .

Heleen, also unofficial participant is Erni in Hamburg, Germany,

he knows all about Kurt Schwitters and Hanna who became "Hannah" :-)

Kurt suggested to her to add the extra "H" to read her name

forward and backward!

"Ja - nobody knows whether Kurt and Hannah had been lovers or just good friends or pals. It's known that she liked and respected him muchly and he liked women though being married...." from Erni.

I sent him a Hannah Hoch b-d card, too"
