Hannah Höch (fan club)

Information

Hannah Höch (fan club)

Some mail artists add a stamp print to their mail art, saying 'Hannah Hoch Fan Club'.

Until I received these stamp prints I never had heard of this artist, who was born 1st of November 1889. She has been a collage / photomontage pioneer. She was part of the Dada movement and also became involved in the De Stijl art movement.

For anyone who has a Hannah Höch Fan Club Stamp (and interested others, I haven't one), this group can be the place to share your thoughts and mail art, tributing to and/or inspired by Hannah Höch.

Happy Birthday!
So delightful to see all received mail - thank you so much! - and to see your creatieve boxes!

Please have a little more patience concerning my mail. I am waiting for one ‘ingredient’ which I hope that will be delivered in one or two weeks and I will send out my mail then asap.

Happy Birthday Hannah Hoch! Wow! This project was so much fun. Thanks to everyone. Have received so many beautiful works dedicated to Hannah and look forward to more. I want to share each gift in detail later. Here are the gifts received so far:

Thanks, Mary Anne. Hazel's was fun to see inside the Post Office bag which had a big "We Care" sign on it! Here's a nice photo of Hannah H. in her studio in 1976 to help us celebrate.

oops...just vanished?this comment went up-in-the-air?

"Happy birthday to Hannah! And many thanks for all the nice "presents" in my Birthday Box (a recycled box from my MacAir :-)

There are "7" so far, but waiting patiently for more in future mail deliveries, overflowing with goodies..."

Hi Rosalie you lucky thing you - It is always good when the postal authorities join in with the fun!  Hazel always likes to re-use old envelopes and they are worth their weight in gold even if they suffer in transit (hers to me was half open too).

On the other hand your mail to me arrived safe and sound and is now happily part of the throng . . .

Happy Birthday, Hannah Hoch! My original 12 went out around Oct 15. My last six will go out today.  My envelope from Hazel Jones had been torn open & arrived inside a small US Postal 'Apology' bag. This is ironic because her envelope says "Please Advise Fate".  Hopefully everything is still inside. Thanks for all of the lovely work! It makes for a very Happy Hannah Hoch Birthday indeed.

I have found a sort of box - an A4 affair covered in black velvet - but haven't the means of a photo at the moment so I have attempted a scan.  Not everything is visible but it gives an idea.  Nine contributions have arrived so far - maybe more in the coming days.  It should make for quite a show when I finalise everything the way it works best. A quantity of time is required and a modicum of thought . . .

Thanks to everyone for making this all a big success . . . we should be proud of ourselves.  Now . . . what next?
