This Group is for anyone who uses 35 mm photographic slides -- 'Arty Slides' -- in their work. It is an international network that welcomes all Arty Slide artists.

NOTE: This Group is effectively in deep, very derep hiberrnation. The amount of ongoing Arty Slide activity is very close to nil, alas.

increased the size and tried to sharpen,

the work is very simple colour pencil to begin.

the original film material is scratched and kinda faded.

this was the regular way to record and store yr images

from the 50s to late 80s.

i m sure there is a professional way to transfer to digital nowadays

anyway.......

i put old art slides in my mailings often.

we have to create new meanings and new uses for this format.

there must be a way to transfer slides to digital and we can

share them at this site.

so anybody got slides? send them to me.

I still have lots of empty frames, but can't really work that tiny anymore.

Comment by Valentine Mark Herman on March 19, 2015 at 4:28am: Welcome Visual Mom! I hope that you enjoy the Group....BUT it is effectively a Group in deep, very deep hibernation. It is 7 months since anyone posted anything here about Arty Slides.

Like a number of the Groups I have founded, there is an initial burst of activity, a possible Mail Art exhibition (in this case 2, both organised by me), and then things gradually trail off and come to a stop.

That's what's happened here. If your interest in the Group can re-awaken the slumbering beast, then that will be good.

If not, well I think we'll need to conclude that the Group is, effectively, no more.

('So why don't you wind it up, Val?' 'IUOMA doesn't let me do that')
