Even though it makes sense that we can look on each others profiles, you may want to add your address here and any blogs or other accounts you want highlighted. This way it's in a closed environment and we all get to share.

What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

Hi Andy, yes I did. I haven't had the chance to familiarize myself with the site yet, but I will look into it soon. Thank you for all of your help!

Thanks for all the inputs! Jimmy, I like that idea. stripygoose, that's a relief to hear...thanks! And Jan, thanks for all the ideas. I too have a stack of what I think failures but wondering if I can revive them somehow by modifying a little :-)

Oh Yayoi, what joy comes thinking of you starting a "new year" with a MAILART 365 intention (just last night my women's group was saying that start of school feels more like the new year here than the calendar date 1.1)

I feel like the dailiness of this has grown me amazingly AND I make extra along the way so that when I travel, for example, I have a batch ready to go if it's not convenient to make art for awhile. But of course, whatever works for you....the intention alone is a strong encouragement. And of course you an always mail multiple pieces to the same people (heck, you could send all 365 to one person, I spoze!). I send them to friends and family along with  fellow mail artists.  I like the "conversation" that happens with getting mail back while I'm making it.

I'm letting myself experiment widely and even send out the "failures" feeling like they're part of the process. I'm also a part of MMSA, Mail Me Some Art, where you send up to 4 cards on one theme to someone who coordinates the swap and finds the recipients.

As Stripygoose says, make your own rules Yayoi!

I've been running Mailart 365 for 7 years now and am on my 4th or 5th 365 series. I've never managed to make one a day as hard as I try, but for everyone Mailart365 means whatever you want it to mean. You can make it mean one a day for a year, or you can make it mean your target it to get to the number 365. Or you can make it mean that you think about Mailart 365 days a year and fit in the making wherever you can.

However you choose to do it, come and join us on the site at www.mailart365.com.  :-)
