Is this group still active? I'd love to see some photos of people's mail art. I'm hatching a plan for something later today.

hi everyone...just joined the group...I love fiber and threads...I've been quilting for over 30 years and have enjoyed all art media...nothing is off limits...recently, I have been enjoying much smaller projects and incorporate fabric into my mail art..

Katerina, I do more hand sewing or gluing than machine sewing, so don't let the lack of a sewing machine trouble you. I use fabric glue or Elmer's glue or whatever's lying around. Elmer's seems best but is a bit thick to sew through if you want to add stitching. But last week I discovered chenille needles, which are sharp needles with enormous eyes. I can poke through most anything with them -- although I've also been known to use needlenose pliers to pull threads through.l

Really a great idea, Karen! 'So like this photo transfer onto fabric...very unique with the old photos! I wonder if my photocopy shop would do some vintage photos to cloth? I have also been hunting around town for one of those hand-held gadgets that sews. No luck, nowhere are they available. Maybe on the internet, but that means lots of postage ;-( Perhaps I will hand-sew...why not?)

It IS a fabric transfer of an old photo- about 3x3 inches square. So cool.
