What is ascemic writing?

What is visual poetry?

I have a pen pal who is interested in learning about them after telling her that I read Judith women making visual poetry and it was my favorite art book of 2021.

Your responses will be printed and mailed to her. Thank you!

I am curious how members view the phenomenon of spontaneous asemics and if they ever experience something like I did this afternoon. I was tidying my workspace and while lifting a pile of paper I detected marks of ink that got stuck to the plastic protection of my table.

Couldn't believe my eyes and started smiling. Yes and I even tried to read it.

Hi I am new here because by chance I saw your question. I have used Fontographer to create my own fonts from drawings and it is easy and free. It will work with W7, I think. You need a painting /graphic program to create tiny drawings of each character and then you just drop them in handy boxes. I cannot remmember the details but I remmember it as fun to use.

Somewhere in my electronic piling system I've got an old version of the abbyy peoples' font creator/editor but I think I purchased it. They're a group of Russian's and their font and OCR products at least sound very good from reviews on the web. I have not even pushed past first steps in using the old one but I'd give them a look and see if they offer older versions free or if one of the 'obsolete'/'old version' sites online has their products.

Anyone here have suggestions what programs asemic artists would find useful in font design?

Previously, I've used a website (I think it was www.yourfont.com) to convert my own traditional alphabet into a font, but it charged me $8. to do it. (That was a discounted special too.) Paying is fine when you're doing something useful like making a font. But it's expensive when you're making asemic art and want to test it to see how the characters work together visually as art. So free programs - that's what I'm looking for.

Have others made fonts here that we could download and install? Please describe them!!
Asemics # 4 - from Neil Gordontag:iuoma-network.ning.com,2011-10-05:2496677:Topic:7572492011-10-05T07:54:58.217ZHeather Millerhttp://iuoma-network.ning.com/profile/heathermiller

Many thanks Neil for sending and everyone for making your own copies. The work has sticky tape/packing tape on the edges which adds to the textural quality :-) X
