My apologies, Roland!
Thanks for posting this imformation about Carlo Pittore and what is happening.
Harry Fox (1935 - 2000). Great mail-artist and great friend. Quite a joker. Smoked cigarillas. Also a paper-maker, watercolourist, racconteur, and most of all, artistampmaker.. He came on the Aard Press stand at book fairs with me, and was a huge hit. One of his (heretical?) slogans was "Sell Your Archive!" Harry was a second Kurt Schwitters, always scavenging the pavements for his gem-like collages. He spoke of a quality of 'stampiness' that he liked: an artistamp shouldn't be just a picture with/out holes around the edge. Numbers and border helped, but gum and perforations weren't essential because the first stamps were cut out and pasted on envelopes, and they still look great.
He'd lived in Australia and Florida, but returned to his native Devon, England to qualify for a retirement pension but died (in his sleep) 15 days before it was due to start. There are descendents somewhere, and also his former partners Sally Bowles and Pat of Florida. Some of his work and correspondence is to be found in The ARTPOOL ARCHIVE. Much missed.
