SUMMARY:Yeats Day 2014 Mail Art Project Open Call for Submissions
DESCRIPTION:WB Yeats was one of the most important poets of the 20th c
 entury. His work is known and lauded in many countries. He had a speci
 al affection for County Sligo, Republic of Ireland and his Nobel Prize
  medal is on display in the Sligo County Museum.\n\nYeats Day on June 
 13 is a dawn to dusk celebration of the life and work of poet William 
 Butler Yeats (1839–1922). From a breakfast boat trip to the Lake Isl
 e of Innisfree, to a sunset concert in the ruins of Sligo Abbey, as we
 ll as poetry readings and myriad other events.\n\nWe are inviting admi
 rers of Yeats to collaborate in the Mail Art Project by sending small 
 artworks through the post to be exhibited in Sligo and to be documente
 d online.\n\nIf you would like to have your work exhibited alongside t
 hat of artists from all over the world, mail an original self designed
  postcard/card based on the theme HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISTER YEATS.\n\nThis
  exhibition is non juried and anyone is welcome to participate to main
 tain the egalitarian tradition of Mail Art. The exhibition is intended
  to be a cultural exchange for both the artists and the gallery audien
 ce.\n\nFor the viewer, the exhibition presents a glimpse into a consid
 erable number of participants art works from all over the world, some 
 of whom may have never before exhibited.\n\n\nIf you would like to par
 ticipate in this project please\n\nDesign a postcard with the theme HA
 PPY BIRTHDAY MISTER YEATS.\n\nUse any media, drawing, painting, print,
  collage, photography, textile, calligraphy, digital etc\n\nPut a stam
 p on it and post it to:\n\nYEATS DAY 2014 MAIL ART PROJECT,\nc/o Paul 
 Murray,\nKinnagrelly House,\nCollooney,\nCounty Sligo,\nIreland.\n\nIn
 clude your own name and address.\n\nThe closing date for receipt of su
 bmissions is 30 May 2014.\n\nThere is no entry fee, submitted works wi
