I have had the same old wallet for over 25 years and it has been everywhere with me, never been lost, never stolen and never been completely empty of money.
I reckon it is time it took a well earned retirement and so I have come up with a new project.
I want to fill the wallet with "art" versions of everything that there might normally be found there ... money, credit cards, receipts, small photos, stamps ..... I am sure you know the sort of things.
My idea is that when it is reasoably full, I will try and put on some inpromtu exhibitions of it ... that is, showing it to someone else and letting them look through its contents and make of it what they will. It would be an ideal way of introducing mail art creations to an un-suspecting public, one-to-one, in cafe, railway carriage, etc etc.
Any type of work welcome. humerous or serious, references to related themes such as the consumer society or identity issues.
I havnt worked out how to document the project but I am sure something will occur to me eventualy.
